Antique Road Show
The Brief
After a previous successful team-building day, the client requested a weekend incentive trip for 50 team members plus partners.
Blue Pebble was asked to put together the programme for an incentive weekend as a thank-you to staff for their hard work on a recent successful Siemens project.
The client requested a UK venue, which could be accessed easily for all guests who would be travelling on a Saturday morning for a day’s activity, followed by dinner and overnight.
The Delivery
We proposed an outdoor activities weekend at Gleneagles and the Polo in Oxfordshire before the client settled on London.
Blue Pebble produced an email flyer for the client to send to all invited guests, and despite the event falling on the same weekend as the first England World Cup football match, had an excellent turn out!
Aided by glorious weather, guests checked in to the Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch before boarding privately hired open top buses for an afternoon of sightseeing whilst being served delicious champagne and canapés.
After a stop to refresh the feet in the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain, guests were handed a gold envelope containing £100 per couple and dropped at their final destination – Alfie’s Antiques Market in Marylebone.
Once inside Alfie’s, guests were introduced to David Dickinson, who advised on the best stalls to visit, what he would spend his money on and tips for the best buys. The couples then had one hour to bag the best bargain!
re-dinner drinks and canapés were served later that evening in privately hired pods on the London Eye, before guests boarded the Silver Barracuda for a private dinner cruise along the Thames. Entertainment was provided in the form of a Rat Pack style band and close-up magician. David Dickinson gave a highly amusing synopsis of the day and picked out some of the best (and worst) purchases! He then awarded a first and runners-up prize to the best buys, and guests were then able to reclaim their antiques to take home as a memento of the weekend.
Laurence Alkin, Business Development Manager, Siemens Business Services had this to say:
“Guys, we had a wonderful time – thank you ever so much. Everything went really well and we have had loads of positive feedback from the team this morning saying how much they enjoyed everything, and praising the Blue Pebble team for all their hard work in arranging a truly special day.”
